What preparations should be done before squeezing palm kernel oil?

In addition to being directly edible, palm kernel oil is also widely used in fried foods, so the demand is increasing. When many palm kernel oil manufacturers first understand the production process, they want to know what preparations palm kernel should do before pressing?

First of all, palm kernels are obtained from palm nuts. Since palm kernels are very hard, there is no machine that can directly squeeze them to obtain palm kernel oil. Even if it can, the oil yield is very low, which is a waste of raw materials. Therefore, before squeezing the palm kernel, the outer shell of the palm kernel needs to be removed first. There are many small local workshops in Nigeria that require manual peeling or crushing of palm kernels directly with a crusher, but the palm kernels obtained in this way are difficult to separate from the shells, and the work efficiency is very low. Therefore, in order to meet the needs of customers, the core separation system we designed consists of a sheller and a Cyclone separation column. Our sheller adjusts the distance between the tooth plate and the beating rod to adapt to different sizes of palm cores. The palm nucleus continuously jumps and collides between the tooth plate and the beating rod to realize the fragmentation of the shell and retain the integrity of the kernel. The palm kernels and shells obtained in this way have a relatively large difference in specific gravity, and then the interaction between the Cyclone separation column and the fan is used to suck away the lighter shells, leaving the heavier palm kernels to achieve kernel-core separation.

After the complete palm kernel is obtained, because the palm kernel is relatively hard, the palm kernel should be crushed to 4-6 petals before pressing, which can help the subsequent wok to adjust the palm kernel moisture and temperature, and can also reduce the work of the oil press Pressure to extend the service life of the oil press. After crushing, the palm kernel needs to be adjusted in temperature and moisture. The water content of the palm kernel before entering the oil press cannot be higher than 10%, otherwise the oil will stick to the roller during the pressing process, which will affect the use of the machine, and it will be steamed and fried. In the future, palm kernels are easier to produce oil, with a higher oil yield, reducing the working pressure of the oil press, ensuring the maximum extraction of kernel oil and avoiding material waste.
