The biggest issue is the extraction methods of the sunflower seeds. There are two types technology of sunflower oil extraction, one is pressing plant, another is solvent extraction plant. The oil yield of them has 6% difference. Pressing plant uses the physical pressing method to press the oil from sunflower seeds, the oil residual ratio is 6-7%. The solvent extraction plant uses the chemical of solvent to extraction the oil, the oil residual ratio will be less than 1%. If the capacity is more than 20-30 tons per day, you can consider to use the solvent extraction method.
The second method which you can increase the oil yield is shelling. The shells will absorb some oil when pressing, so removing the shells of the sunflower seeds will decrease the oil residual ratio and increase the oil yield.
Except for the shelling, cooking will also help to extract more oil from the seeds. Cooking is adjusting the temperature and moisture to make the the sunflower seeds to reach the best conditions for extracting oil.
After cooking, it will go to the flaking processing. Flaking is making the seeds into small pieces, which will break down the inner structure of the sunflower seeds, and make is easier to extract oil.
Presser will also influence the oil yield. In the market, there are different models and capacities sunflower oil presser. The smaller capacity will be better to produce more oil. If is it possible can use several smaller presser to instead of the one big capacity.
